What Fingerprinting Do Teachers Need?

Arizona teachers and educators typically need an IVP (Identity Verified Prints) Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety. This is required for:

• Public and private school teachers (all grade levels)
• Substitute teachers and long-term substitutes
• School coaches, aides, and paraprofessionals
• Student teachers completing practicums or internships
• After-school program staff and tutors
• Charter school and homeschool co-op instructors

How It Works

The process is straightforward — we handle the fingerprint portion and you submit the application to DPS online:

• Walk into either our Phoenix or Chandler location — no appointment needed
• Bring a valid government-issued photo ID
• We capture your Live Scan prints digitally (no ink — clean and quick!)
• We submit your prints electronically to DPS
• You complete your IVP Clearance Card application online at azpoint.az.gov
• Most visits take just 10–15 minutes from start to finish

Pricing

Our fee for Live Scan fingerprinting is $30. The IVP Clearance Card application fee is $67 (paid to DPS, not us). DPS rolling fees are separate and disclosed upfront. See our full pricing page for details.
